Gregory National Park doesn't have the scenic attractions of the wetland NT Parks, but is sited in unique country with great historical significance and offers good off-road driving. Gregory is in two bits: a spectacular gorge section at Victoria River Crossing and a much larger chunk immediately south of Timber Creek.

So much room and so close to a couple of strenous hikes. Do them both. The Escarpment hike takes around 1 1/2 hours. Difficult trek up a rocky path but the view at the top is worth it.

Judbarra National Park, formerly Gregory National Park, is a national park in the Northern Territory of Australia, 359 km south of Darwin . The park is the second largest national park in the Northern Territory, after Kakadu National Park, with an area of 13,000 km 2 (1.3 million ha). [2]

Everything in this part of the Victoria River District is big, including the barramundi, saltwater crocodiles, the landscape and challenges on the many four-wheel drive (4WD) tracks through the park. In the west of the park, don't miss the historic Gregory's Tree, a large boab tree with carvings from Augustus Gregory's 1885 north Australian.

The Gregory National Park 4WD track network comprises the Broadarrow, Wickham, Humbert, Bullita Stock Route, Gibbie, and Tukawam tracks. This trek takes you from south to north through some very remote country over its entirety or parts of the first four of these.
